SINISTER & SURREAL
SINIST3R and SURR3AL were dual icon characters introduced for Halloween Horror Nights 33 in 2024. These two characters represented two distinct forms of pain, SINIST3R represented physical pain and torture while SURR3AL represented psychological pain and phobias.
They both were the main icons of HHN in 2024 and have appeared in 2026.

A PORTAL OPENS
In the fall of 2024, 33 years of fears and screams have been collecting underneath Universal Studios Florida causing some sort of evil overgrowth with a beating pulse to form and begin spreading to every crevice underneath the theme park until it eventually ripped a tear between our world and the vast universe of horrors that exists beyond our own. A never ending void in which fear derives from. (It's unknown at this time if Adaru originated from this same reality). A fleshy entity with teeth and a singular eyeball acted as the gateway between both dimensions. Resembling the archway of Universal Studios, this being would soon be given the name Otis by the Halloween Horror Nights community.
DUALITY OF FEAR
Within that universe exist two distinct realms — One fueled by physical pain while the other is plagued by psychological torment. At the helm of these worlds are two entities, SINIST3R and SURE3AL, who each embodied the hellscapes they stand guard for. Passing into our world through the sentient gate between both realities known as Otis, SINIST3R and SURR3AL unleashed their terror on the guests of Halloween Horror Nights 33
TORTURE FAIRE
The entity of visceral psychical horror, SINIST3R, would go on to host The Torture Faire which takes place in a 2024 Ye Olde Torture Faire in New York where a group of Torture Enthusiasts who have put on a renaissance-like fair for many to come and meet their fate as these Torture Enthusiasts have recreated medieval torture devices using modern supplies and made them into more horrific and grotesque than ever before as many of the festival goers are being placed in them.
DEMON QUEENS
Meanwhile, SURR3AL, her Demon Queens, and their minions lay waste their unforeseen terror in the minds of others in an otherworldly hellscape embedded in the darkest corners of the human mind. Taking over the Hollywood section of the theme park, SURR3AL unleashed her demon queens to torment HHN guests. There is a class system presented in the realm with SURR3AL being the ultimate ruler followed suit by the Demon Queens, who each represent common fears; Cage Queen being entrapment, Vine Queen being strangulation, Swirl Queen being paranoia, and Thorn Queen being bodily harm. The Queens have dominion on their own sectors of the realm in which their Tormentors roam. Each Queen has two fiercely loyal Tormentors that appear as monstrous representations of their Queen's fear. Next are the Acolytes, who are followers of SURR3AL and all four queens. Finally at the bottom are the Tormented Souls, who's fears the realm is built upon. SURR3AL has explained that their queens began as Tormented Souls, afraid of the things they now represent, but were able to grow their minds to the point of conquering their fears and becoming them.
RETURN
At the end of the 2024 event the portal closed and SINIST3R and SURR3AL seemingly returned to their realms after each gaining power and support from various guests who chose to become their acolytes. However they were summoned back to the event in 2026 by Cindy Caine using Oddfellows power and appeared alongside Cindy, The Caretaker, Lady Luck, and Bone in the Sideshow of Decay.
